How to activate The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim RUSSIAN cd key:

ACTIVATION AND DOWNLOAD:

1. You need use Russian VPN to activate the Skyrim CD KEY. For this you need to use the special prog: http://usaip.eu/en/USAIP.pbk select "EUROIP PPTP Ukraine" option.

Use the login information:

1a. If .pbk files are associated with Adobe Pixel Bender instead of Remote Access Phonebook then follow these steps:

-Launch Notepad. 

-Copy the following content into Notepad: 

Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00 [HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT.pbk] @="pbkfile"

-Save to Desktop with the name .pkb.reg 

-Launch the saved file from Desktop to modify the registry to change the file association. 

2. Log into Steam 

3. Activate key from email (should display as the RU version when activation successful) 

4. Start download of game (Note: The initial download speed is VERY slow but the vpn service will shut down after 7 minutes since it is a TRIAL version and then you should see the download speed ramp up to your normal, broadband speeds)

5. After game is installed, shut down (log off) Steam and then restart Steam and log back on (so you are now using the US location instead of Ukraine). You will notice that Skyrim is NOT installed according to your Library but don't worry, it really is installed. 

6. Go to the Steam application folder and navigate to "steam/steamapps/common/skyrim/" 

7. Right click on "TESV.exe" and select "Send to Desktop" to create a shortcut to the game. 

8. Double click to start the game without having to use vpn! YAY! Yes, this is a little more complicated than I'm used to activating RU games on Steam but it was well worth it.
